‘Straight Outta Corton’ clear winner at MOBOs

A team of vineyard workers from Burgundy have swept the board at this year’s Music of Boozy Origin awards.

Pickaz With Attitude’s album ‘Straight Outta Corton’ scooped awards at the MOBOs for Best Album, Best Video and Best Pruning Technique.

They are the first vinsta rap act to take the top spot, the combination of Dr.C’s lush arrangements and the fury of Ice Cru’s delivery making a big impression on the judges.

Mean streets of Beaune

‘They really captured what it’s like to grow up in the tough banlieus of the Cote de Nuits,’ said competition organiser, Toke Nf’male.  ‘The cold mornings when neither of your Mercedes will start, being surrounded by people addicted to banned pesticides, the horror of endless coq au vin…

‘It’s a world most of us can barely imagine, but they made it so real, so human, so… vinous.’

The MOBOs recognise music from people working in the fields of wine, spirits, beer and cider and have launched the careers of, among others, Notorious IPA, Distillery’s Child and Oz Clarke.
